Pink Tuxedo Guppy – Care, Breeding & Price

The Pink Tuxedo Guppy is a true beauty in the aquarium world. With its soft peach-pink body paired with the classic tuxedo-black base, it brings elegance and calm energy to community tanks. This guppy is hardy, easy to care for, and perfect for hobbyists who want something a little more unique than the usual bright guppy strains.

Appearance & Traits

Male Pink Tuxedo Guppies show off delicate peach or rose-pink shades across their upper bodies. Their long, flowing tails often carry black edging that really pops against the lighter color. Females, on the other hand, are larger and rounder, with paler tones but the same tuxedo contrast.

  • Males: smaller, brighter, with long fins.

  • Females: larger, softer coloring, gravid spot near anal fin.

  • Average size: 1.5 in (males), 2.5–3 in (females).

  • Lifespan: 2–3 years.

Tank Setup & Water Parameters

  • Tank Size: 10 gallons or more.

  • Temperature: 72–80°F.

  • pH Range: 6.8–7.6.

  • Décor: plants like Java moss, Anubias, and floating species give cover and bring out the guppies’ pastel colors.

Diet & Feeding of pink Tuxedo guppy

These guppies thrive on a balanced diet. Start with a quality flake or micro-pellet, then mix in spirulina flakes for color and live/frozen treats like brine shrimp or daphnia to keep them active and healthy. Feed 2–3 times a day in small portions.

Behavior & Tank Mates

Pink Tuxedo Guppies are peaceful and love being in groups. They do best in schools of six or more and get along wonderfully with mollies, platies, neon tetras, rasboras, and shrimp. Just avoid aggressive fish like barbs or bettas that may nip at their fins.

Breeding & Lifespan

Like all guppies, Pink Tuxedos are livebearers and will breed readily in community tanks. Females give birth about once a month, usually 20–30 fry at a time. If you want to raise fry, provide dense plants or a breeder box for protection.

Pink Tuxedo Guppy Female:

Females may not be as flashy, but they’re essential for the group. They grow bigger (up to 3 inches), show a gravid spot near the anal fin, and tend to be calmer. Their softer colors make the males’ pink really stand out in contrast. Keeping a ratio of two females per male reduces stress and keeps the group healthier.

Price & Availability

Pink Tuxedo Guppies are relatively affordable, usually ranging from $5–$15 a pair. They are more common through breeders and online stores than local pet shops.

Why Choose Pink Tuxedo Guppies?

If you want something elegant and graceful in your aquarium, Pink Tuxedos are a fantastic choice. They’re hardy, easy to care for, and bring a soft splash of color that pairs beautifully with brighter fish.
